WELCOME
CALL TO WORSHIP
God is the ruler of the universe.
We gather to praise God’s awesome name.
We extol the Lord.
God speaks to us in pillars of clouds.
We worship God on Holy Mountains.
ALL: Our God is a Holy God. Amen
PRAYER OF APPROACH
Through clouds of wonderment, of uncertainty,
of anxiety, sometimes,
we hear your voice, O God,
Proclaiming the presence of Spirit in the midst of our day
to day living.
We pause and become mindful.
We pause and listen to the voice within and around.
We pause and worship the astounding glory of your presence
as we pray together saying
Our Father …. Amen.

CLOSING HYMN “In Haiti There Is Anguish”
(tune “Beneath The Cross Of Jesus”)
In Haiti, there is anguish that seems too much to bear;
A land so used to sorrow now knows even more despair.
From city streets, the cries of grief rise up to hills above;
In all the sorrow, pain and death,
Where are you, God of Love?
A woman sifts through rubble, a man has lost his home,
A hungry, orphaned toddler sobs, for she is now alone.
Where are you, Lord, when thousands die-
The rich, the poorest poor?
Were you the very first to cry, for all that is no more?
O God, you love your children; you hear each lifted prayer!
May all who suffer in that land know you are present there.
In moments of compassion shown, in simple acts of grace,
May those in pain find healing balm,
and know your love’s embrace.
Where are you in the anguish? Lord, may we hear anew
That anywhere your world cries out, you’re there—
and suffering , too.
And may we see, in other’s pain, the cross we’re called to bear;
Send out your church, in Jesus’ name,
to pray, to serve, to share.
(Carolyn Winfrey Gellettle)
* COMMISSIONING
Let us go out as this season closes,
And another begins with its own journey to the cross.
There is much we must encounter before we reach the
empty tomb.
Let us take these hopes,
knowing that wherever we are,
we are in the presence of God, singing …
(“Be Still, My Soul” #652 VU )
Remembering….
* CHORAL AMEN
